El Niño is Back
Last week, NOAA announced that El Niño or El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO), the periodic warming of the eastern Pacific ocean, has returned. El Niño impacts the globe in a number of ways. It typically brings droughts to Southeastern Asia, flooding to Central and South America and damaging storms to the US, especially in California. It also usually suppresses Atlantic hurricanes.
