Scientists from the Wildlife Conservation Society and the University of Melbourne recently discovered a new songbird in Laos.  The bird, a new type of bulbul, was named Pycnonotus hualon & will be known as the bare-faced bulbul.  The bare-faced bulbul has a bald-head with pink skin, greenish-olive feathers and has very distinctive calls.  Scientists said that the bird was very vocal and active and it is likely it went undiscovered for as long as it did simply because it lives in an extremely rugged region of Laos.  For more information on the new discovery, see MSNBC.
