WWF Study Points to Rising Ocean Levels

icebergA new study by the environmental advocacy group  WWF entitled Arctic Climate Feedbacks: Global Implications found that that Arctic sea ice is melting at a faster than expected pace and that ocean levels could rise by 3 feet by 2100.  This projection in sea level increase is twice as high as the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s assessment released in 2007.  Such an increase will have a dramatic impact on the environment as a whole.   Some potential changes according to the study include: unusually cold winters in Europe and North America and warmer winters in Greenland.
