Measure Your Carbon Footprint!

wind powerToday is Blog Action Day where bloggers around the world come together to discuss an issue of global importance.  This year the topic is climate change.  The KAMS Blog often focuses on issues concerning climate change (check out our Tag Cloud), so it’s easy to do so again today!  Also, since all the KAMS students are taking a class on climate change this issue is particularly relevant here at KAMS.

With this in mind, the we’re suggestion two calculators that can help you see your personal carbon footprint.  One from the Nature Conservancy is a nice medium length calculator than has comparison pie charts so that you can see how your footprint compares to an average US resident.  A longer, more detailed calculator is available from the EPA.  It also offers recommendations for how to both save money and reduce your footprint.  You can check out other climate change posts from across the world at the Blog Action Day site.
