Microchip Makers Turn to DNA

DNAIBM researchers are using DNA origami to develop future microchips.  DNA origami is a technique used to create nanoscale shapes and patterns using custom DNA strands.  This method has been used to create self-assembling nano machines in addition to other items like bridges & artwork.  These researchers have been using DNA like miniature circuit boards to precisely assemble the components.  This method could allow computer chips to shrink to significantly, an important step in increasing computing power.  For more information, see CNet News.
