Come to Science Fair!

The Second Annual Regional Science & Engineering Fair will be held this Saturday, February 27th in the Ballroom of the Memorial Union.  The public is welcome to attend the Fair and view the exhibits from 1:00 – 3:00 with an Awards Ceremony to follow at 3:00 in the Black & Gold Room.  We encourage you to come out and see all the projects from our area’s budding scientists & engineers.  Mondo Subs will be open from 11:00 – 2:00, so bring your friends & family and make an afternoon of it!

Attend the FHSU Regional Science Fair on Feb. 27th

The Second Annual FHSU Regional Science & Engineering Fair is scheduled for February 27, 2010.  Last year’s Fair was a tremendous success with the State Champs in both Division I (9th – 12th grade) and Division II (4th – 8th grade) originating from the FHSU Regional Fair.  We’re sure that we’ll be able to send a winner to the International Science & Engineering Fair again in 2010!  The entry deadline is February 1, 2010.  Check out the  Science and Mathematics Education Institute website to enter, for categories, for rules & forms, and for project suggestions.  Remember, the Fair will be open to the public on that afternoon, so bring the family for some science fun!

FREE Informal Science Education Workshop

scimath logoThe FHSU Science and Mathematics Education Institute in cooperation with the FHSU Department of Teacher Education is sponsoring a FREE Informal Science Education Workshop with Angelo Casaburri, a NASA Aerospace Education Specialist on Friday, January 30, 2009, 7pm to 9pm at Sternberg Museum, Hays, KS .

The program is designed for adult leaders in any youth organization such as Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, Church Youth Groups, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and Home School educators. This engaging hands-on workshop will deal with Rockets and Kites using NASA educational materials. Participants will take away ideas and materials that can be used with the youth in their organization.
